Store Policies / FAQs

Here at Honeydew & Violet, we are committed to bringing you the most unique and stylish design that you are dreaming of. Your piece, and your experience with us should be as pleasant, and as personal as possible. Thank you for choosing us, and we look forward to creating your design vision.

Prices:

H&V's prices are correct at the time of the actual order being placed and paid for. Prices may change at times without notice. Please note that necklaces and bracelets (both sterling silver and leather) are additional to the pendant price, and that these prices vary due to ball size and chain length.

Payments:

Payments are accepted through Mastercard, Visa and  PayPal. If choosing PayPal, you can also checkout with an already existing PayPal Account, MasterCard, or Visa. Completing orders through our online shop will take you directly to the checkout to choose your method of payment.

When payments are being made by PayPal, the PayPal site will then re-direct you back to our website to complete the process. This is where your mode of shipping will be chosen, as well as the opportunity to apply any discount codes in the discount box.

Please remember to fill in the special instructions box for your stamping customization.

Your H&V piece will then hit the workbench once your payment has been received in full.

Artistic Design:

Our Creative Director, Dani is more than happy to help with your design ideas if you need. Many clients have the exact style and layout of their piece in their mind when ordering, others may not. If you need to, Dani can be contacted by email prior to you placing your order and can send you some pics of various design ideas, and of different pendants set together. This can be helpful if you are creating a piece with multiple names included.

Orders will still need to be placed through the H&V online store for invoicing.

Our Products:

All of our designs are either made from scratch in our Sydney studio, or are original cast designs that are signature to us. Each item will have its own unique imperfections, which in turn makes it a one off piece.

Our pendants are supplied with a complimentary leather cord necklace. Sterling silver chains, natural silk braclelts, or keyring attachments can be chosen via the drop down menu when ordering. Alternatively you can pick a different length necklace from our catalogue to add to your order.

If you would like a particular leather colour choice, please state this in the instructions box when ordering. If no colour is stipulated, then H&V staff will choose this for you at time of postage.

Stamping, Spelling, Wording, & Placement:

PLEASE check the spelling over when filling in your order form, as Honeydew & Violet will not be responsible for any incorrect ordering on the clients part.

If we have and queries or suggestions for you in regards to the placement of names or dates we will contact you directly via email or phone to confirm.

If you are looking for help with finding a song lyric, quote, or special words then please email us at any time and we can help with some suggestions.

The word placement will be stamped in the way the artist thinks will suit the piece best, and gives the best look in the end. However, if you have a specific layout - then please let us know when filling in the stamping instructions.

Our preferred layout of words is Uppercase for the first letter, then lowercase for the rest of the word. If you would prefer all UPPERCASE or all lowercase, please note this by typing in your exact stamping in your notes to seller section, when leaving your instructions.

If your chosen wording does not fit on the piece you have ordered, we will contact you ASAP to work out an alternative design with you.

The Hand Stamped Process:

Please note that Honeydew & Violet uses no machinery in the stamping of our pieces. Every item is worked on purely by hand. Because of this trait, minor imperfections can occur. Some letters may not be completely straight, some may be slightly crooked, and some of the grooves may come out slightly lighter or darker than others. This is all part of the craft, and is considered to be part of the charm of a one-off hand stamped piece. Please click here see our page that outlines this process in-depth.

Double Sided Stamping:

Double sided stamping (ie stamping on the reverse side of the pendant) is a service that Honeydew & Violet offers at no additional cost on appropriate items that can tolerate it. The high quality of the sterling silver pendants used by Honeydew & Violet, teamed with our hand sanding and polishing techniques produces a result that many of our leading competitors in Australia do not even offer.

The wonderful thing about double sided stamping is that you can fit a lot more information/stamping onto our pendants, and this then gives a lot more options for spacing and layout.

Slight imperfections, scratches and blemishes can still occur at times. This is due to the silver (a relatively soft metal) being stamped against a steel bench block - metal against metal with extreme force - but these imperfections will fade markedly due to the hand sanding and polishing process.

Our team will notify you if for some reason your chosen piece cannot be stamped double sided.

This will be stated in the product information for each pendant in our collection catalogue.

Copying Other Artists & Companies:

Honeydew & Violet does not, and will not copy, solder, or stamp on another artists work. So please do not ask us to.

We are happy with requests to co-ordinate pieces from our collection to work with other pieces of jewellery that you may already own, however we will not replicate the work of other brands or try to reproduce.

Honeydew & Violet prides ourselves on being handmade, unique, adaptable and wearable. We hope you respect our wishes on this.

Studio/Office Hours:

Honeydew & Violet is a small, boutique business, consisting of a team of 1-3 people at any time. Our craft is our passion, but not our sole livelyhood. We believe in a good life/work balance, and that our families needs come first. Because of this we do not always run our studio or office on the timetable of "normal" work hours.

To cater for this, Honeydew & Violet currently opens up for orders on a bookings basis only. Once our order numbers reach capacity for an allocated time frame, we will be unable to complete any further pieces until the current orders have been filled.

Please note that our books are currently closed to any new orders until October 29th, 2017.

Enquiries via Facebook, Instagram, or other social media will be responded to at the best of our ability, however please note that at times these messages can get lost, or not seen in the social media system. Direct email conversation is most probably the most effective means of communication with H&V staff.

Lead Time:

Honeydew & Violet requires a MINIMUM of 10-15 working days from receipt of payment, until postage of your item/s.

Please take note that rather large orders, group orders, and orders around peak periods such as Christmas / Valentine's Day / Mother's Day / Father's Day may take longer than this due to the volume of orders in line at the time. Please be mindful of this when ordering around these times, as turn around time can take over 3 weeks in some cases.

If you require an order in a hurry, please let us know and we will be only too happy to accommodate you if we feel we can do so in your required time frame. Please feel free to contact us to discuss.

We offer an express option for super-urgent cases. A $40 fast-track fee is chargeable, which includes a 3-4 day creation time, plus Express Post service.

Sizing:

Sizing charts are available to assist with measurements for chains and rings.

Necklaces and bracelets are described in cm for length, and mm for ball size. We will advise you via email or phone if we feel that a particular chain or bracelet will not be suitable for the pendant/s that you desire (ie if its just to delicate to carry the pendants/s weight).

Please be careful when ordering rings, as once a ring is hand stamped, it cannot be returned for incorrect size choice due to the personalized nature of the product. If you are really unsure as to your size conversion, you can opt to be sized up by a local jewellery store.

Please keep in mind that the thicker the bandwidth, the tighter the ring may feel because of the more surface area of your finger that is covered by the piece. This also applies when stacking rings. So if a size feels tight to start with, perhaps consider going up a size.

H&V's ring sizes are stocked in full Australian sizes. A conversion chart to UK/AUS/US sizes is shown on this website.

Shipping:

We have four choices for postage within Australia:

For orders less than $45, we offer budget shipping $9.00 anywhere around Australia. This will be sent as a small parcel, with no tracking available, and no insurance cover. This should take 1-4 days to arrive from the date of postage.

For orders over $45 value, we use Parcel Post with signature on delivery & insurance cover, for a flat rate fee of $15 to anywhere in Australia. You will be emailed by us when your order has shipped, and you will be supplied with a tracking number for your parcel so that you can follow its progress on the Australia Post Website.

H&V's expedited service. If you need an order completed in a hurry, we can get this done for an additional fee. This method is charged at $40, and includes your order being completed in 1-5 days, and sent Express Post with Insurance.

For orders over $250 value in one transaction, please enjoy free shipping, which includes signature on delivery and insurance cover.

International Postage is charged at $30 for International Standard Registered Post (signature on delivery, insurance, NO tracking), and $60 for Express Courier International. Please email us directly to discuss international postage. H&V are not responsible for any additional taxes or charges that your country might enforce at your end.

Please choose your desired postal method at checkout.

Returns:

Due to the completely personalised nature of our product, we regret that we cannot accept returns on stamped items, unless there is a stamping error made by us. All pieces that leave our studio are of the highest quality and standard. Please click here to read our page outlining the hand stamped process to ensure that hand stamping is really for you.

Chains, bracelets and Luxe Leather Bracelets can be exchanged or refunded if the size is incorrect, within 2 weeks of delivery. Our Luxe Leathers Collection bracelets are all one size only, so please note that these cannot be exchanged for a different length. All measurements are supplied in the product description for each item.

A sizing page is available on this website for all solid, stampable items such as rings and bangles. Please use these, and contact us if unsure. Because we are an "on-line only" store, it may be an option to visit a local jeweller in-store to find out your correct size.

The chain/bracelet must be returned to us unworn and unused, and with the original packaging. Please email or phone us directly if this is required. If a significant amount of wear and tear can be seen on your chain or bracelet, then Honeydew & Violet reserves the right to refuse a refund.

Shipping costs from the original order will not be refunded.

Please understand that if the item does not reach us safely, then we will be unable to complete your refund/exchange. Please use a trackable postage method when returning any items to us eg. signature on delivery/ registered post, so that the item can be located easily by Australia Post. We will not be liable for any lost postage when being returned to us.

Simply placing your item into the post box with a stamp and no tracking is not advised.

Please send any jewellery items in a secure, padded envelope. There is no need to send back the boxes or packaging, simply place your item in your flat black satin jewellery bag that comes with your original order, and post your item flat packed.

Repairs & Replacements:

If one of our chains or bracelets breaks during normal activity & wear during the first four weeks of receiving your order, it will be replaced  to you at no charge. Please inspect your chain fully when you receive it, and contact us if you find any faults.

After this time, you can contact us for repairs if the chain/bracelet has broken and we will advise you to whether it can be fixed or not.

Do not wear your leather bracelets or necklaces in water. These materials are high quality leather, but leather is not meant to be friends with water. You would not wear your Italian leather coat in the shower - so treat your leather jewellery in the same way, or otherwise it will wear very prematurely.

Soldering of chains will not be performed, as this can create further weakening. We will replace jump rings however, if this helps.

We advise that you should inspect your chain, and the jump rings on a regular basis in case they require tightening. You can easily attend to this at home with a simple pair of (jewellery) pliers.

As stated in the previous section: if a significant amount of wear and tear, or any tampering with connections of any kind (that has not been performed by us) can be seen on your chain or bracelet - then Honeydew & Violet reserves the right to refuse a refund.

Medical Alert Jewellery:

Honeydew & Violet can also custom create bracelets for those with medical conditions. Making a fashionable option with a purpose!

Our Creative Director, Dani, has a 17 year Critical Care Nursing background in both Adults & Paediatrics. So this knowledge is golden with advising what information is important (and can fit) on such small pendants. Dani can advise a layout that is user friendly for people to read, yet also a lovely style to wear.

Please note that all medical alert jewellery is made using pendants by Honeydew & Violet. These are sterling silver, not stainless steel. Honeydew & Violet will set these pendants on jump rings used in all of our products, but these jump rings may not always be soldered shut (depending on design). Honeydew & Violet takes no responsibility if pendants are lost during wear.

A small medical alert tag (international standard, and recognisable) is also set with the pendants. Please email for design ideas and a quote if interested.
